To financially support the growth projects of Italian SMEs and to foster the development of the Italian private debt market.

Strategy

Focus on funds that target small and medium-sized enterprises operating in Italy with turnover of less than € 500 million (and in particular, turnover of less than € 300 million) with real growth prospects.

To provide SMEs with flexible instruments that often replace expansion capital, through the subscription of funds managed by third parties.

Luigi Tommasini has been a Senior Partner at Fondo Italiano d'Investimento SGR since its formation in November 2010. Previously, he was a member of the funds-of-funds team of AXA Private Equity, where he completed transactions in the primaries and secondaries. He has served on several advisory boards of Italian and pan-European funds. He has been a member of the investment committee of the AXA Private Equity small buyout/expansion fund as well as of the direct investments of Fondo Italiano. Beforehand, he worked for Apax Partner and began his career as a management consultant at McKinsey&Company serving their offices in Milan, São Paulo (Brazil), and San Francisco (USA). Luigi graduated with honours from Bocconi University in Milan and obtained his MBA (Palmer Scholar) from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and his MA in International Studies from the Lauder Institute of the University of Pennsylvania.

Federica Maccaferri is Partner at Fondo Italiano d’Investimento SGR, that she joined in March 2017. She previously worked for 9 years at Mediobanca, holding different positions inside the Corporate & Investment Banking dept. From 2008 to 2011 she worked as equity research analyst in the Mediobanca securities division, with a particolar focus on banking and real estate sectors, devoloping analitical, critical and modeling skills. Later she worked inside the Corporate Finance division, where she developed particular skills related to debt advisory and extraordinary finance, taking part into M&A operations, company and debt valuations, public tender, exchange offers and IPO’s. She graduated in Management Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Milan.

Clementina Bonaduce has been Partner at Fondo Italiano d'Investimento SGR, since August 2014. From 2013 to 2014 she worked in Garnell Advisory as a business analyst where she mainly followed the investments of a renewable energy fund and several extraordinary finance transactions of SMEs. Previously, she worked as an intern in Rothschild's M&A team. Clementina graduated with honors in Corporate Finance at L. Bocconi University in Milan. During her academic career, she participated to an Exchange Program at the Norwegian School of Economics.

Nicola Cancellara has been a Senior Investment Manager at Fondo Italiano d'Investimento SGR, since September 2015. From 2011 to 2015, he worked in the investment team of Dea Capital Alternative Funds, where he participated in the selection and investment process on a global scale of private equity, private debt and venture capital funds. From 2007 to 2010 he worked at Kairos Partners in the funds of hedge funds team. Nicola graduated in Economics of Markets and Financial Intermediaries from Bocconi University.

Caterina Manzini has been Investment Manager at Fondo Italiano d'Investimento SGR since January 2021. 
Previously, she worked in CDP where she was in charge of the launch and monitoring of private equity and private debt funds focused on the Italian economy.  Previously, she gained experience in YNAP Group as a strategy specialist, and in the private debt fund Anthilia BIT. She started her career at the private equity fund Yarpa. Caterina graduated in Economics and Finance from L. Bocconi University in Milan.

Anna Pezone has been a Portfolio Manager at Fondo Italiano d'Investimento SGR since June 2020. Prior to that, she worked at the Family Office Bootes Srl where she was in charge of all administrative functions and relations with subsidiaries and outsourcers. In the previous nine years she worked at Space Holding Srl in the role of Office manager and Head of the corporate technical secretariat. From 2007 to 2018 she worked as head of all administrative activities at Mezzanine S.r.l. and subsequently at Inbetween SGR S.p.A., covering transversal roles that allowed her to consolidate her administrative, financial and relational skills and to broaden her knowledge in the field of regulations governing SGRs in relations with supervisory authorities. From 1998 to 2007 she worked as an Investor Relator and Head of the Lugano Branch of Kiwi I and Kiwi II Ventura Servicos Venture Capital Funds. Anna graduated with honors in Modern Foreign Languages and Literature from Università Federico II di Napoli.

She holds a Master's Degree in Conservation of Cultural Heritage from the University of Studies "Suor Orsola Benincasa" of Naples, a Master's Degree of II level in disciplines related to her academic title and several Courses of Higher Education aimed at deepening her relevant skills in the specialized areas related to her activity.
