Domenico Lombardi

Domenico Lombardi serves as Chief Executive Officer of Fondo Italiano d’Investimento SGR since October 2025. He is a member of the Executive Committee of the Italian Private Equity Association (AIFI) and Professor of Practice in Public Policy as well as Director of the Policy Institute at LUISS University. Previously, he served as an Independent Director of Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena, where he chaired the Appointments Committee, acted as Vice Chair of the Related Parties Committee, and was a member of the Risk and Sustainability Committee. He was Chief Executive Officer of Banca di San Marino, leading its restructuring, and Independent Director of Extrabanca, where he also chaired the Supervisory Body. He began his career at the Bank of Italy, later representing Italy on the Executive Board of the International Monetary Fund and subsequently at the World Bank in Washington, D.C. He has been awarded the honor of Officer of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic.

Domenico graduated in Business Administration from Bocconi University in Milan and earned a Ph.D. in Economics from Nuffield College, University of Oxford.
