Massimo Montes is Partner of Fondo Italiano Filiere of Fondo Italiano d'Investimento, where he joined in October 2026. Prior to joining the firm, he built significant experience at McKinsey & Company, where he has served as an Associate Partner since 2023, leading international projects across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, with a focus on private equity, credit, sustainability, and growth strategies. Throughout his career, he has advised private equity funds and institutional investors on due diligence processes, value creation initiatives, industrial platform development, and the design of investment and sustainability strategies. Having joined McKinsey in 2014 as a Business Analyst, Massimo progressed through all major professional milestones within the firm, taking on increasing responsibility for managing teams and complex international projects. He also gained experience at Nardello & Co., a corporate investigations firm, and at AltaFlora, a healthcare startup, where he led the launch of the company’s operations in the Italian market. He began his professional career at ENI as an Energy Engineer.

Massimo graduated with honors in Energy Engineering from Politecnico di Milano and earned an MBA from INSEAD. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the INSEAD Alumni Association Italy and holds specialized certifications in private equity and climate risk.
