Fondo Italiano d’Investimento: Luigi Tommasini appointed Head of Strategic Initiatives

Milan, April 9, 2024 – Fondo Italiano d’Investimento SGR announces that Luigi Tommasini has been appointed Head of Strategic Initiatives.

Tommasini, in Fondo Italiano since its inception, has led its Funds of Funds activity, significantly contributing to the development and institutionalization of the private capital market in support of SMEs, positioning Fondo Italiano as an anchor investor in that segment. Along with his new position, Tommasini will retain his current roles as Head of Funds of Funds and Co-Head of co-investment activities.

A graduate of Luigi Bocconi University, Tommasini holds an MBA (Palmer Scholar) from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and an MA in International Studies from The Lauder Institute of the University of Pennsylvania.

The creation of the role of Head of Strategic Initiatives – who reports directly to CEO Davide Bertone – is part of the drive to strengthen the identification of innovative initiatives and partnerships aimed at expanding the asset classes and products managed by Fondo Italiano, to the benefit of Italian companies and its investors.

Davide Bertone, CEO of Fondo Italiano d’Investimento, commented,

“Luigi’s appointment as Head of Strategic Initiatives is an important step in strengthening Fondo Italiano’s organization. Thanks to his experience, he will contribute to the innovation effort with which we intend to increasingly support the growth and evolution of the Italian private capital system.”
